The Michael J. Fox Foundation Launches The $14 Million-Edmond J. Safra Core Programs for PD Research
NEW YORK—The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) today announced the opening of its Therapeutic Pipeline Program. This newly created funding mechanism invites research proposals from industry and academic investigators to drive pre-clinical and clinical Parkinson’s disease drug development. MJFF has committed up to $14 million in funding toward three research programs, which include the Therapeutic Pipeline Program, Rapid Response Innovation Awards and Target Validation.

The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) announced the launch of the Aware in Care campaign today, the first-ever, nationwide initiative to address the growing problem of poor hospital care for over one million people with Parkinson's disease (PD). Aware in Care features a free kit for PD patients and caregivers to help make hospital stays safer. NPF, its Centers of Excellence at leading medical institutions, and local chapters urge patients and caregivers to know the steps to take to ensure that people with PD get the best possible care during hospital stays.
