Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland
The Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge offers no-cost accommodations and a home-like place of respite for families and loved ones of patients receiving care at the NIH Clinical Center, the premier clinical research hospital in the United States. Since its opening in 2005, the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge has welcomed more than 70,000 family caregivers from all 50 states and six continents. A “home away from home”, it provides space during a difficult and stressful time for supportive fellowship, family meetings, and solitude.
The English manor-style residence includes 34 guest rooms, a library, a generously-equipped business and telecommuting center, a fitness center, a children’s play area, a large kitchen and dining area, the Claudio and Evelyne Cohen gardens, and comfortable social areas.
