Expansion of the Edmond J. Safra Campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
The Edmond J. Safra Campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is expanding with a fourth building that will rise in its computer science complex in 2025. This follows a $27 million gift from the Paulson Family Foundation.
This new building will feature state-of-the-art education facilities including 7,000 square meters (75,300 square feet) of special laboratories, teaching rooms, office space, and computer stations in the labs and open areas.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem teaches more than 23,000 students from 80 countries per year. Among its faculty and alumni are eight Nobel laureates.
The campus is the home of some of the world’s most advanced scientific research centers:
- The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences researchers have made significant progress in understanding addiction, memory, consciousness, and brain degenerative diseases, paving the way to new potential ways of preventing them and curing them.
- The School of Computer Science and Engineering is the birthplace of some of the world’s leading hi-tech companies.
