“A Banker’s Journey” French edition launched with events in Paris and Geneva

Following its success in its original English version in the US, and after achieving best seller status in Portuguese in Brazil, the French edition of the biography of Edmond J. Safra, “L’Epopée d’un banquier” was launched with events in Paris and Geneva.

Leading French publisher, le Cherche Midi, explained that the publication of the book by Daniel Gross, noted American financial journalist and author, was an opportunity to share “the vibrant story of an exceptional life, one that should inspire us, especially young people today” as Edmond Safra began his remarkable journey of success that spanned four continents when he was only fifteen years old.

In addition, Mr. Safra spoke French and was deeply attached to French-speaking Europe; he lived in Geneva, Paris, and Monaco.

The biography was launched in Paris on its November release publication date with author Dan Gross and le Cherche Midi publisher Philippe Heracles, along with dozens of invitees and the general public at the Publicis Drugstore on the Champs-Elysées.

The author described the personal, historical and cultural passions that led him to unravel the story of Edmond J. Safra’s life.

Vincent Bitker, Director of Development for the Paris Brain Institute, described how the support of the Edmond J. Safra Foundation was essential in the creation of the Institute and its successful development.

The next week, on November 19, a special event at the Société de Lecture de Genève gathered a hundred people. They had the opportunity to meet the author and hear Dan Gross present on ‘Edmond Safra’s Geneva’, describing the places in and around the city that had special meaning for him, his family, his colleagues, and for the local Jewish community.

French-speaking media have welcomed the book, with prominent coverage in both France and Switzerland, including features in Le Temps, a leading Swiss newspaper, and in Actualite Juive, the main French Jewish community weekly.
